Beautiful sunset sinking over the Sperrin Mountains on February 19th 2013 while out on a Winter photo shoot, I was on the road at this time and saw this dramatic scene unfolding, I only had min's to spare to get a shot and was in the middle of busy rush hour traffic leaving Toome, just on the outside of the town I managed to pull over into a bus stop space and quickly got out, attached the 100-400mm lens while cars rushed past me constantly with a rush of wind, and got this image before the disk set, you can see the slanted dark cut of the Sperrins eating it's way through the bottom of the disk complete with a large sunspot group on view. I normally don't like power lines in images however on this occasion I couldn't avoid them, however upon review I actually like them here for they provide a sense of scale and depth which generates that must needed sky-earth connection. The isolated house with balcony to the L also adds a nice touch to the scene. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email. |
